The Mary S. Biesecker Public Library is proud to serve our community as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Here are the ways you can help support the library’s mission to serve the community:

Volunteer:

The Mary S. Biesecker Public Library is always looking for dedicated, energetic volunteers to help with

library operations & community outreach projects. Being a volunteer at the library requires a series of clearances that we can help you procure. If you are interested in helping, please submit this online form and we’ll be in touch with more information.

Donate Books:

We will gladly accept book donations during most times of the year, unless otherwise stated. Please note that all books should be handed to a librarian, NOT dropped in the book drop.

  • Book donations in good condition are accepted only during normal opening hours.
  • Books must be in good physical condition with no tears or blemishes.
  • Books that smell musty or are damp are not accepted.
  • Donated magazines are also not accepted.

Buy our Used Books:

Support our used book sales! Check the calendar for special events usually scheduled in early January during the Fire & Ice Festival, and July and August, in conjunction with the Uptown Chalk-the-Block Festival. Prices can vary from event to event.

Donate Financial Support:

Monetary Donations are gladly welcomed via mail, in person, or in the future, via a PayPal Giving Fund (credit/debit cards are accepted). Donations can be made by check and sent or delivered to 230 South Rosina Avenue, Somerset, PA 15501. Our online donations are currently unavailable, stay tuned to this site once the information is updated.

Become a Friend of the Library:

The Friends of the Mary S. Biesecker Public Library is the organization that raises funds and obtains resources to support the work of the Mary S. Biesecker Public Library. The Friends also assist with planning library events and activities. The fee for friends is a yearly membership of $25 and $300 for a lifetime membership. Next time you visit the library, drop off an Application Form or ask for one to sign up!
