In 2020, the Somerset County Story Stroll began as a collaborative, county-wide project between the libraries of Somerset County to promote literacy, exercise and get fresh air at a variety of locations in Somerset County. Each site hosts a children’s book that is cut into 15 separate stations and posted for people to read as they walk between the stations. The project was originally updated monthly at each participating library.
At present, the Mary S. Biesecker Public Library operates the Story Stroll to celebrate holidays and major events across Uptown Somerset. The current route of the Story Stroll can be seen below:

Our current story (originally for January’s Fire & Ice Festival) is Space Boy and the Snow Monster by Dian Curtis Regan and Robert Neubecker. Our next story will go out in April, in time for Earth Day.

You’re invited to check out the Story Stroll Challenge! We’ve created a fun activity to complete as you read the story. Print out and return the form above to the Library to win a prize!
