Technology: Internet and Public Technology Resources

The Mary S. Biesecker Public Library is happy to provide a variety of technology services to our community, including:

Broadband Internet and Wifi

The library remains invested in a fast, reliable WiFi distribution system.  Signal strength is persistent throughout both floors of the library as the signal is forced to find a path through the thick concrete walls of our old building. The Mary S. Biesecker Public Library will continue to be a gathering place for books and printed media, but it is also now poised to become a centrally located, digital hub for the community. It will serve well as a place to reliably access new venues of digital communication and information in the years to come.

To connect your phone, laptop or other device to the library’s internet, check your phone’s Settings and connect to Public-Library-MSB. You will then be asked to agree to the Terms and Conditions for use. Upon agreeing, you will be connected to our network.

Computing Resources

The library has a variety of new computing resources available for the public. There are four Internet-Only Kiosks available which are re-purposed, older computers, capable of running a modern linux-based web browser for basic internet use. All of these computers are Google Chrome devices with access to Google and related software, and are connected to our public printer and copier. We also have a dedicated computer setup for public search of our new catalog available online.  All computers are configured in such a manner that any user data and browsing history will be wiped clear after logout.

Public Print & Fax Resources

By Default, our printers print single-sided:
Black & White: 15 cents per page
